eBay Fees

While eBay is free to sign up for, there are some fees that come with it. As a seller, your first 50 listings are free each month. After that, you pay $0.30 per listing. The good thing is that the $0.30 fee is credited back to you if your item sells as an auction style listing.

When your item sells, you are charged a final value fee. That fee is 10% of the total amount of the sale.

PayPal also has a small fee. It is $0.30 plus 2.9% of the payment that you receive.

Optional Fees

There are several optional fees for upgrades that include:

  • Designer
  • Gallery plus
  • Value pack
  • Bold
  • Listing your item in two categories

As a new seller, I wouldn't worry about adding any of those optional things to your listings. I've been selling on eBay for nine years, and I've never used any of those extras for my listings.

* Sometimes eBay will have promos where they offer more free listings every month. Some months, I get a promo email that gives me an extra 50 listings. I've read that other people get 100 free listings. The promo emails happen randomly. They also don't happen every month. Make sure that you check your eBay account every few days, so that you don't miss a promo.
